Procurement Specialist Job Overview

The Procurement Specialist plays a crucial role in sourcing and purchasing commodities, ensuring compliance with ethical standards and business requirements. The primary objective is to achieve procurement goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reviews and analyzes purchase requisitions for optimal results.
  • Processes purchase requisitions, change orders, and requests for quotes to suppliers, ensuring best value.
  • Conducts thorough canvassing/bidding for required commodities, leveraging relationships with suppliers.
  • Evaluates quotations, examines bids, and makes informed awards.
  • Ensures the implementation of provisions in the Responsible Business Alliance Guidelines or Corporate Social Responsibility Guidelines with Suppliers.
  • Negotiates prices with Suppliers, including commercial terms and conditions, to drive cost savings and avoidance.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Develops new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are no longer competitive.
  • Performs comprehensive cost analysis and volume planning for major commodities, optimizing efficiency.
  • Responsible for procurement business system data input and integrity, ensuring accuracy.
  • Cultivates close relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders (Operations, Engineering, QA, HR, Facilities, IT, SCM) to resolve quality and supply issues.
  • Provides valuable information, strategies, and practices to stakeholders, enhancing collective leverage and advantages.
  • Conducts thorough supplier evaluation and qualification, and conducts supplier partnership meetings to ensure competent and qualified suppliers, as well as conformance of goods and service quality.
  • Collects, consolidates, and reports Key Initiatives and KPI to provide relevant information to suppliers and superiors.
  • Performs self-audit to ensure accuracy and correctness of activity in accordance with set standards.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
  • Relevant experience in Semiconductor or related Industry, preferably in Purchasing for at least 3 years.
  • Adept in Purchasing Business System (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent).
  • Experience in cost modeling, cost analysis, negotiations, pricing, general purchasing & contracting.
  • Understanding of manufacturing and quality assurance processes.
  • Knowledge in RBA, CSR Guidelines or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in conducting Supplier Audits.
  • Diligent, eager to learn, detail-oriented, efficient.
  • Ability to build strong internal and external relationships.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Fluent in written and verbal communication (English).
  • Knowledge in MS Office - adept in using Excel (Pivots, etc); SAP (advantage).
