The Wellbeing Counselor plays a vital role in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of employees working in content moderation roles.
Using interventions such as cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness-based therapies, you will conduct sessions to improve resilience, healthy coping, and distress management skills.
Your role includes collaborating with colleagues to design and deliver group sessions that enhance employee wellbeing. As this role falls into the category of trust and safety, you will work with people exposed to harmful content, including images, videos, and text related to hate speech, violence, child safety, self-harm, harm to others, and harm to animals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver one-on-one check-ins and counseling sessions addressing psychological health using short-term resilience strategies such as CBT, ACT, SFT, MBT, and psychoeducation
- Deliver group and peer support sessions aimed at building resilience, developing healthy coping strategies, and promoting positive working relationships
- Collaborate with site coordinators and regional leads to drive mental health and wellbeing activities, focusing on enhancing employee resiliency and minimizing psychological risks in the content moderation space
- Assess cases for trauma related to exposure to graphic content, follow escalation protocols, and triage employees to appropriate support pathways
- Manage confidential case records and reports safely and in line with privacy protocols
Minimum Qualifications
- Masters degree in psychology, psychotherapy, counseling, or a related field (highly preferred)
- Licensed therapist (required), with 3+ years of post-graduate clinical experience delivering individual and group coaching sessions across the mental health spectrum
- Clinical experience working with diverse backgrounds (cultural competence)
- Ability to build trust and rapport with employees, managers, and team members
- Experience designing and delivering wellbeing and mental health training, workshops, and webinars
- Strong data management skills, excellent time management and prioritization skills, and excellent communication skills
