The Verification Representative is responsible for verifying insurance coverage and patient eligibility for home testing services. They obtain authorizations from insurance companies, process supply orders, and maintain accurate patient information in data management systems.
Main Responsibilities- Contact insurance companies to verify coverage status and resolve any issues promptly.
- File pre-authorizations and provide timely follow-up as needed to ensure seamless processing.
- Maintain up-to-date patient information in data management systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding order status and financial breakdowns to build trust and confidence.
- Gather additional medical records as requested by insurance companies to support authorization decisions.
- Prior experience in medical insurance authorization is preferred but not mandatory.
- One to two years of data processing or customer service experience can be beneficial.
- An Associate degree or equivalent with relevant working experience is required.
- Excellent telephone communication and phone etiquette skills are essential for interacting with patients and insurance companies.
- Able to provide superior customer service and build strong relationships.
- Strong organizational and time management skills are necessary for meeting deadlines and prioritizing tasks efficiently.
- Familiarity with basic Excel, Word, and Outlook is required.
- Demonstrates proficiency using data management systems to streamline processes and improve productivity.
