Job Overview

The Head of Credit Operations will lead the development and implementation of tailored credit risk policies and procedures for real estate transactions, encompassing residential, commercial, and mixed-use properties.

This role will be responsible for assessing borrower creditworthiness, monitoring portfolio performance, and leading a team of credit analysts and underwriters to ensure alignment with company objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement credit risk policies and procedures aligned with strategic business goals
  • Lead the assessment of borrower creditworthiness, approve or escalate credit decisions based on risk thresholds and financial analysis
  • Monitor portfolio performance, identify emerging risks, and implement mitigation strategies to optimize returns
  • Manage and mentor a team of credit analysts and underwriters, promoting accountability and continuous learning to drive growth and success
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless deal execution and risk management
  • Provide regular reports to executive leadership on credit performance, risk exposure, and key metrics to inform strategic decision-making
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred)
  • 8-10+ years of experience in credit risk management, preferably in real estate or top financial institutions
  • Strong knowledge of US lending regulations and real estate market dynamics to drive informed decision-making
  • Proficiency in credit scoring models, financial analysis, and risk assessment tools to support data-driven insights
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills to foster collaboration and drive results
