We are seeking a highly skilled Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee the general operation, cleanliness, and maintenance of all areas of Housekeeping. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Executive Housekeeper, assisting with all duties and substituting for the Executive Housekeeper during their absence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare shift reports for the Executive Housekeeper, ensuring timely and accurate documentation.
  • Train, evaluate, and motivate staff to ensure high standards of performance and guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain the highest standard of cleanliness in all areas of the department, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
  • Manage stock records and inventory, ensuring sufficient supplies are available to meet operational needs.
  • Conduct regular refresher trainings for Housekeeping employees, focusing on best practices and new procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments, particularly Front Office and Maintenance, to ensure seamless operations and excellent guest experiences.
  • Address guest complaints and missing or damaged items promptly and professionally.
  • Prioritize VIP guests, providing exceptional service and attention to detail.
  • Ensure adherence to cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards at all times.
  • Record maintenance and defects found in rooms and corridors, and escalate issues to Engineering through the Coordinator.
  • Coordinate repairs and maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure optimal operating conditions.
  • Provide Housekeeping staff with necessary tools and adequate supplies for daily operations.
  • Ensure pantries are stocked with linen according to set policies, organized, and kept closed at all times.
  • Conduct daily staff briefings to communicate important information and discuss ongoing initiatives.
  • Prepare daily shift rosters and maintain absence statistics to optimize staffing levels.
  • Enforce uniform policies, ensuring staff wear nametags and are properly groomed while working in guest/public areas.
  • Conduct quality inspections of assigned rooms (30-40 per day), focusing on cleanliness, organization, and overall guest experience.
  • Develop and implement Room Inspection Checklists for every room released to Vacant Clean status.
  • Evaluate room situations, placing out-of-order status as necessary, and address any issues promptly.
  • Log lost and found items from guest rooms, declaring and storing them properly.
  • Document key information within the shift on the Supervisors log book.
  • Analyze training needs, schedule, and conduct training programs to enhance employee skills and performance.
  • Implement safety standards and provide training to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Assess and make recommendations for Room Attendants' performance, identifying areas for improvement and recognition.
  • Plan and implement cleaning schedules for the entire year, ensuring full implementation and adherence.
  • Conduct pantry inventories prior to requesting supplies from the storeroom.
  • Promote good expense management within the department, setting a positive example for staff.
  • Perform an inventory of supplies, room equipment, and machines, reporting losses, breakages, discards, or proposing repairs.
  • Document critical incidents, share problems, and discuss solutions with the team.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Executive Housekeeper or Assistant.
