Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled External Application Support Analyst to provide 2nd line support for 3rd party applications with 24 x 5.5 coverage.

This role involves managing business-critical real-time trading systems, middle office systems, back office, and settlement systems to identify issues and potential problem areas.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of electronic trading systems, middle office applications, and back office / settlement systems, as well as database interrogation and manipulation skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • System Management: Manage business-critical systems to identify issues and potential problem areas.
  • Troubleshooting: Collaborate with various internal IT support functions and external vendors to troubleshoot and resolve complex incidents.
  • Incident Management: Actively identify incidents and manage the incident resolution process, ensuring service recovery while managing client communications and expectations.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with departmental policies (change management, IT security standards, release management, incident management).
  • Service Delivery: Work with parties to provide services to agreed SLAs.
  • Disaster Recovery: Contribute to Disaster Recovery planning and testing.
  • Documentation: Maintain documentation for all systems and processes.
  • Technology Strategy: Provide input on technology strategy with the business.
  • System Upgrades: Oversee trading system, middle office, and back office system upgrades, including testing, implementation, and support.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Excellent problem-solving, planning, and organisation skills are also essential, along with good understanding of enterprise technologies, excellent written and oral communication skills, and strong customer service focus.
