Real Estate Accounting Specialist

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Real Estate Accounting Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records for multiple properties using industry-standard software.

You will process accounts payable and receivable, including vendor bills and tenant payments. Additionally, you will reconcile bank accounts, trust accounts, and credit card statements on a monthly basis.

Key responsibilities include preparing owner statements, financial reports, and draw schedules. You will also monitor and manage tenant ledgers, security deposits, and lease-related transactions.

As a Real Estate Accounting Specialist, you will ensure compliance with GAAP and real estate-specific accounting standards. This includes collaborating with property managers to resolve discrepancies and support audits.

Other responsibilities include assisting in budgeting, forecasting, and year-end financial preparations. You will handle tax documentation, 1099s, and other regulatory filings as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)
  • CPA or Bookkeeping Certification (a plus)
