The Impact You Will Have

As an Equity Clearance and Settlement Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for providing operational support for depository services, trade capture, comparison, and netting of virtually all broker-to-broker equity, listed corporate and muni bond, and UIT trading in the U.S. This includes culminating into a consolidated end-of-day process that completes the transfer between trading parties of securities ownership and cash daily.

A key area of responsibility for this role is the support and preparedness of business resiliency and continuity efforts, cyber security events, and default/liquidity management. You will work closely with our team to ensure that our operations run smoothly, efficiently, and effectively.

Your Primary Responsibilities

  • Complete operational processes by following documented procedures and job aids, able to make suggestions on improving process and efficiency. Process specialized workflows, resolve exceptions, assist with complex inquiries.
  • Take ownership of workload, ensures deliverables are met in line with procedures, metrics, and benchmarks; while adhering to critical timeframes; ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Build knowledge of department controls. Aligns risk and control processes into day-to-day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk, raises appropriately.
  • Maintain a steadfast focus on client service, including responding to inquiries timely and accurately, resolving issues promptly.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners to facilitate issue resolution, preoperational improvements risk reduction.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills, active engagement in meetings and displays a curiosity to learn and grow; accepts feedback given and applies to role.
  • Facilitate training sessions for junior team members as directed by management.
  • Participate in projects and initiatives.
  • Aligns risk and control processes into day to day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; raises appropriately

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
