Job Title: Strategic Safety and Business Continuity Lead

This is a strategic safety and business continuity leadership role that requires the implementation, management, and continuous improvement of occupational safety, health, digital security, and business resilience programs tailored for a remote work setup.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY & HEALTH MANAGEMENT (REMOTE FOCUS)
  2. Develop, implement, and monitor remote work safety policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
  3. Conduct virtual ergonomic risk assessments and provide guidance on setting up safe, healthy remote workstations to prevent work-related injuries and illnesses.
  4. Organize online safety awareness campaigns, training sessions, and wellness initiatives to promote mental health support and encourage employee engagement.
  5. Investigate and document remote work incidents or hazards, recommending mitigation measures to prevent future occurrences.
  6. BUSINESS CONTINUITY & DISASTER RECOVERY (IN TANDEM WITH IT)
  7. Develop, review, and maintain the company's Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies specific to remote operations to ensure business continuity in case of disruptions.
  8. Lead virtual BCP drills, tabletop exercises, and scenario planning to test the effectiveness of the BCP and DR plans.
  9. Identify critical remote business functions and dependencies; coordinate recovery efforts during disruptions to minimize downtime and impact on business operations.
  10. Communicate BCP procedures effectively to all remote employees and provide ongoing training to ensure they are aware of their roles and responsibilities in case of an emergency.
  11. EMERGENCY RESPONSE & CRISIS MANAGEMENT
  12. Serve as the lead for emergency preparedness, including health crises, cyber incidents, natural disasters, and technical failures to ensure timely response and effective crisis management.
  13. Create and communicate clear remote emergency protocols, including incident reporting and access to support to ensure prompt action in case of an emergency.
  14. Liaise with local authorities and other stakeholders for emergency response readiness to ensure cooperation and coordination in case of an emergency.
  15. EMPLOYEE HEALTH & WELLNESS
  16. Promote mental health awareness and wellness programs targeting remote employees to foster a positive work environment and support employee well-being.
  17. Facilitate virtual health checks, stress management, and work-life balance initiatives to promote employee engagement and productivity.
  18. Monitor employee well-being and provide resources or referrals as needed to ensure employee health and wellness.
  19. DIGITAL & CYBERSECURITY AWARENESS (IN TANDEM WITH IT)
  20. Collaborate with IT to promote cybersecurity best practices and safe data handling among remote employees to prevent data breaches and cyber threats.
  21. Help in the conduct of virtual training on cybersecurity threats such as phishing, password management, and safe internet use to educate employees on cybersecurity risks.
  22. Encourage responsible use of company devices and safeguarding company data to prevent unauthorized access and data leaks.
  23. SAFETY CULTURE & ENGAGEMENT
  24. Foster a safety and well-being culture through virtual initiatives, challenges, and recognition programs to promote employee engagement and participation.
  25. Regularly gather feedback from remote employees on safety concerns and program effectiveness via surveys, virtual town halls, or focus groups to ensure continuous improvement.
  26. Policy Development & Compliance
  27. Draft, update, and communicate safety, health, cybersecurity, and BCP policies tailored for remote work to ensure compliance with local and international laws, industry standards, and company policies.
  28. Monitor compliance with local and international laws, industry standards, and company policies to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  29. Data Management & Reporting
  30. Maintain databases of incidents, hazards, and safety-related data to analyze trends and recommend improvements.
  31. Use data analytics to identify trends and recommend improvements to enhance safety performance and reduce risks.
  32. Prepare regular safety, health, cybersecurity, and BCP reports for management review to ensure informed decision-making.
  33. Technology & Safety Tools Administration
  34. Assist in selecting, deploying, and managing digital safety and incident reporting tools to enhance safety data collection and analysis.
  35. Train employees on using these tools effectively for reporting hazards or incidents to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  36. Vendor & Third-Party Coordination
  37. Collaborate with third-party providers such as health services, internet providers, or safety consultants involved in supporting remote work safety to ensure seamless coordination and delivery of services.
  38. Environmental & Sustainability Practices
  39. Promote responsible and sustainable remote work habits, including energy conservation and waste reduction to minimize the environmental footprint of remote work.
  40. Advocate for environmentally responsible practices in remote work setups to ensure a sustainable and environmentally-friendly work environment.
