Medical Billing Specialist Job Description

As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will play a vital role in the healthcare industry by ensuring accurate and timely billing for patients. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of healthcare regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish effective communication with patients via phone or email to discuss outstanding balances, explain charges, and address concerns related to their bills.
  • Work closely with insurance companies to resolve claims denials, rejections, or discrepancies, utilizing negotiation skills and attention to detail.
  • Develop and implement payment plans that cater to patients' financial situations and organizational policies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient demographic and insurance information to ensure seamless billing processes.
  • Document all communications, payment arrangements, and actions taken in the collections process.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of one year's experience in BPO handling US Healthcare accounts is required.
  • Good working knowledge of Accounts Receivable principles is essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills are necessary for success in this role.
