Job Overview

The Financial Application Specialist provides primary service contact assistance to customers for effectively utilizing software in meeting their firm's business objectives.

This role involves technical consultative application support for a product in a non-call center project-based environment, with opportunities for cross-training on other products over time.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Pulling service request tickets and documenting challenges, expectations, and resolution steps.
  • Recording information using case management systems and remote access utilities.
  • Isolating causes, taking restorative actions, and minimizing disruption to customer operations.
  • Providing timely status updates and communicating complex solutions to resolve customer issues.
  • Maintaining dashboard management and collaborating with teams to resolve issues efficiently.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in IT, Finance, or Accounting.
  • 2+ years of technical, financial, and customer service experience with financial programs.
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP and prior legal industry accounting experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, MS Office, Azure, and relational database concepts is a plus.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, expertise in troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask dynamically and prioritize focus correctly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Remote troubleshooting and complex financial data mining on client systems through extensive use of SQL Management Studio, backend logs, front-end testing, research, and liaison with development teams.
  • Help clients utilize software to adhere to accounting best practices, including month-end and year-end balancing.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of technical, financial, and customer service experience with financial programs.
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP and prior legal industry accounting experience is preferred.
