Travel Expense Management Specialist

Accounts payable and travel expense management involves overseeing a team responsible for processing invoices, payment authorizations, employee expense reports, and corporate credit cards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead daily functions of 5-20 accounts payable staff members
  • Establish and maintain control environment aligned with company policies and global standards
  • Review and authorize invoices to ensure accurate and timely processing
  • Set financial objectives for the accounts payable team
  • Develop, implement, and uphold systems and procedures within accounts payable for accuracy and efficiency
  • Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings related to accounts payable
  • Address escalated inquiries from vendors and internal teams
  • Assist with financial audits related to accounts payable
  • Manage auditing of employee expense reports for compliance with expense policy
  • Develop training sessions on expense reporting best practices using Concur system
  • Conduct periodic compliance audits of expense reports
  • Manage corporate credit card ordering process ensuring eligibility verification
  • Regularly review corporate credit card accounts to resolve discrepancies
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators and propose strategies to meet KPIs
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or business administration
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in accounts payable, expense auditing, or financial management
  • 2+ years of management experience
  • High level of detail orientation and ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Experience managing a high-volume team in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
