Fund Expense Specialist

This position is a Mutual Fund Expense Specialist. The position resides in Manila. Reporting to the Expense Director/Manager/Supervisor in the John Hancock Fund Administration Department with oversight and approval to reside there.

Position Responsibilities

• Invoice processing allocate invoices for group of vendors with uncomplicated allocation methodology.
• Budgeting, roll forward last budget and update all data: Payment info, GL, dates, etc.
• Ensure custodian invoice is prepared according to the contract ensuring the funds are charged correctly.
  Review monthly TA & custody billing for reasonableness to submit to supervisor for approval.

Required Qualifications:

• At least three years of experience in fund accounting environment with progressive increase in responsibilities
• Strong understanding of Investment theory and terminology, as well as financial accounting concepts. This may be derived from academic study or related work experience.
• Experience in mutual fund bill processing and budgeting a plus.
• Hybrid Work Arrangement: Amenability and readiness to work onsite and from home anytime (dependent on business need AND/OR current external environment/situation) and must be willing to work on a day shift schedule
• Strong background in Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, and Access is a plus
• Ability to share knowledge and apply it to make improvements in the efficiency of the department
• Strong organizational, writing and communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and manage priorities in a demanding and deadline-oriented environment.
• Flexibility to work in a team oriented and dynamic environment and contribute to the department goals.
• Ability to communicate orally with a strong English background and also strong written English skills
