Medical Scribe Specialist

As a Medical Scribe Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting eye care specialists during patient consultations. Your expertise will be invaluable in documenting encounters in real-time, optimizing clinical workflow, and ensuring accurate medical records.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Attend patient consultations virtually or in-person to transcribe interactions with ophthalmologists and optometrists, providing precise documentation of diagnostic data and visual exam findings.
  • Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, such as Compulink or RevolutionEHR, to input notes securely while adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Manage and organize large volumes of medical files on a personal PC, ensuring seamless access to critical information.
  • Identify and clarify inconsistencies in visual exam documentation, flagging areas requiring attention from healthcare providers.
  • Develop and maintain templates for eye exams, surgical consultations, and follow-ups, streamlining administrative tasks.
  • Provide exceptional support by assisting providers in streamlining documentation duties, enhancing overall efficiency.
Technical Requirements:
  • Own a Windows-operated PC with high-capacity storage for handling large datasets and medical records.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, and OneNote, for documentation and file tracking.
  • Navitage EHR platforms with ease, leveraging skills in software applications like Compulink and RevolutionEHR.
  • Maintain secure internet connectivity for remote sessions, if applicable.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Possess familiarity with ophthalmologic terminology, including refraction, tonometry, and fundus exam.
  • Exhibit exceptional typing speed and attention to clinical detail, ensuring accuracy in documentation.
  • Prior experience in a scribe or medical transcription role is highly valued, showcasing adaptability and skillset.
  • Demonstrate ability to work discreetly, maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Display strong organizational and communication skills, effectively collaborating with healthcare teams.
