Primary Care Representative

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Primary Care Representative to join our team in family medicine and internal medicine support.

About the Role
  • This is an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, where you will be responsible for greeting callers professionally and addressing patient needs promptly.
  • You will schedule primary care appointments, including annual exams, chronic care follow-ups, acute visits, and preventive screenings.
  • Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility, including co-pays, deductibles, and network status.
  • Maintain and update patient records accurately in Athena EHR.
  • Assist with patient portal setup and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and timely care delivery.
  • Respond to patient inquiries regarding test results, referrals, and follow-up instructions in alignment with practice policies.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical office setting, preferably in family medicine or internal medicine.
  • Proficiency in Athena EHR, including scheduling, documentation, and patient communication features.
  • Strong knowledge of primary care visit types, referral processes, and insurance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
  • Expertise in family medicine/internal medicine scheduling protocols.
  • Proficiency in Athena EHR.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance verification and referral coordination.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
