Primary Care Support Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide personalized support to patients via phone, addressing their inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Schedule appointments for primary care visits, preventive screenings, and chronic disease management sessions.
  • Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility, ensuring accurate and timely processing of co-pays, deductibles, and network status.
  • Maintain and update patient records accurately in Athena EHR, reflecting the latest information on test results, referrals, and follow-up instructions.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and timely care delivery, providing essential support during peak periods.

To succeed in this role, you will need strong knowledge of primary care visit types, referral processes, and insurance requirements. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial for effective patient engagement and collaboration with healthcare professionals.

Required Skills:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a medical office setting, preferably in family medicine or internal medicine.
  • Proficiency in Athena EHR, including scheduling, documentation, and patient communication features.
  • Strong knowledge of primary care visit types, referral processes, and insurance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
