Overview

The Instructional Designer role involves creating engaging and effective learning activities, courses, and content in cooperation with subject matter experts. This position is part of a team that supports Learning Service Delivery within a Regional Learning Delivery hub or centre.

  • Apply best practices in learning technologies and instructional design to create interactive and immersive learning experiences.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify required learning outcomes and target learner populations.
  • Develop the most appropriate delivery mechanisms (e-learning, virtual classroom, face-to-face) to meet the needs of learners.

Requirements

We are seeking an experienced Instructional Designer who possesses a solid understanding of learning theories and instructional design models. The ideal candidate will have lesson and curriculum planning skills, as well as knowledge of multiple web design technologies and multimedia formats.

  • BA or MA degree in instructional design, educational technology, or a related field.
  • Certification in Instructional Design (preferred).
  • In-depth knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models.
  • Visual design skills (e.g. Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio, and video scripts.
