Senior Accountant Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. This individual will be responsible for managing a high volume of invoices, ensuring accurate coding and approval in accordance with company policies.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Invoice Processing: Process and manage a high volume of invoices, ensuring accurate coding and approval in accordance with company policies.
  • Vendor Verification: Review and verify vendor invoices against contracts and receipts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Discrepancy Resolution: Handle complex invoice discrepancies and vendor payment issues, working directly with vendors and internal departments to resolve.
  • Payment Preparation: Assist in the preparation of payment runs, ensuring all payments are processed on time and in line with vendor agreements.
  • Vendor Information Management: Maintain and update vendor information, ensuring accuracy of records in the accounts payable system.
  • Closing Processes: Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, including the preparation of accruals, journal entries, and reconciliations for accounts payable.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure VAT, WHT, and income tax compliance in line with local regulations.
  • AP Policy Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of AP policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy within the department.
  • Training and Mentorship: Provide training and mentorship to junior accounts payable staff, ensuring they understand and adhere to AP processes and best practices.
  • Statement Reconciliation: Review and reconcile vendor statements, following up on outstanding issues to ensure timely resolution.
  • Report Analysis: Generate and analyze AP reports to monitor aging and cash flow. Assist with audits, providing necessary documentation and supporting evidence for AP-related inquiries.
