Job Description

A highly skilled and experienced tax return and payroll expert is sought after to manage US tax returns, handle payroll returns, and maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks Online (QBO). The ideal candidate will possess expertise in managing financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and performing general bookkeeping tasks. This role requires a strong understanding of US tax laws, payroll processes, and proficiency in QBO for financial management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns with compliance to all regulations.
  • Manage payroll processing and prepare accurate and timely payroll returns.
  • Maintain and update financial records using QuickBooks Online (QBO).
  • Perform various bookkeeping tasks including recording financial transactions and reconciling accounts.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Monitor and analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
  • Stay updated with changes in US tax laws and payroll regulations.
  • Provide support during audits and liaise with external auditors when required.
  • Ensure confidentiality and security of financial information.
  • Offer training and support to team members on QBO usage and best practices.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Proven experience in preparing US tax returns and payroll returns.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and other accounting software.
  • Strong understanding of US tax laws, payroll processes, and accounting principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional certification such as CPA or Enrolled Agent is desirable but not mandatory.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with other financial software and tools.
  • Knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific accounting practices and regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with colleagues.
