This role is part of the Nonprofit/Community/Social Services/International Cooperation sector and involves working as an Other role.

About the Position

We are seeking a skilled Global Development Strategist to join our team at Asian Development Bank.

The successful candidate will be based at our Headquarters in Manila, Philippines, and report to the Deputy Director General (DDG), Private Sector Operations Department (PSOD).

As a key member of our team, you will provide strategic advice to the Director General (DG) of PSOD on different aspects of private sector operations, including policies, strategies, transactions, partnerships, and programs.

You will lead and implement programs to enhance PSOD's ability to manage and deploy third-party capital alongside nonsovereign operations (NSO) transactions in partnership with other developmental finance institutions.

In this role, you will also head and lead the Agribusiness Investment Unit (AIT) and oversee the activities and performance of HQ and/or outposted staff.

About You

To succeed in this position, you will need:

  • A Master's degree or equivalent in economics, business administration, finance, social sciences, or related fields.
  • At least 15 years of relevant experience in agribusiness financing in ADB's developing member countries (DMCs).
  • Technical and multi-disciplinary competence relevant to the assigned areas.
  • Knowledge of emerging areas and best practices in climate finance, natural capital, blended finance, technical assistance, and recognition by the market as a leading professional in these fields.
  • A proven network of contacts within agribusiness companies, cofinanciers, coinventors, government agencies, development partners, and other participants in agribusiness transactions in ADB's DMCs.

You will also need skills to handle managerial/senior level responsibilities, design and implement strategies and business plans successfully, lead inter-disciplinary teams, and communicate effectively in written and verbal English.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $120,000 - $150,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
