Business Growth Strategist

At American Express, we are committed to helping our customers achieve their financial goals. As a Business Growth Strategist, you will play a critical role in driving sales growth and developing high-performing teams.
You will lead a team of 10 direct reports, providing guidance and support to help them acquire new clients and meet full-year goals and targets. Your expertise in American Express's value proposition, products, and services will be invaluable in this role.
To succeed, you will need to identify target markets, industries, and territories, aligning your team to these areas and developing a sales plan to ensure they are on track to deliver business results.
You will also set team and individual targets in performance and productivity, building a robust plan to deliver business outcomes. Accurate and timely reporting of the pipeline and prospects will be essential in managing the sales pipeline.
Collaboration with Marketing Manager SBS will be key to ensuring effective alignment between the two teams. You will foster relationships with global, regional, and local counterparts, driving profitable growth and overcoming obstacles to support business objectives.
In addition, you will develop performance reports and analysis to track team productivity and sales outcomes. Leveraging Salesforce.com as the platform to manage all opportunities and reporting will be crucial in this role.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Exceptional people leadership experience of at least 5 years with a proven ability to drive teams towards KPIs and sales targets.
- Proven capability in developing and implementing various business strategies.
- Proven ability to create a high-performing team and motivate team members to deliver targets.
- Previous experience of working within a regulated industry with a high level of compliance.
- Confident, resilient, and willing to go the extra mile to be a success, and is effective and persuasive, with a high level of executive presence and builds a strong followership.
- Demonstrates ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment to influence, collaborate, and coordinate with multiple stakeholders globally, regionally, and/or locally.
