Job Description

We are seeking a skilled A/V Systems Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in configuring and maintaining video conferencing systems, including Microsoft Teams and Zoom.

Your Responsibilities:

  • System Configuration and Maintenance:

    • Configure A/V systems to optimize performance, user experience, and security by setting video quality, audio clarity, recording options, and access controls.

    • Manage version control to ensure compatibility with integrated systems.

    • Regularly update and maintain A/V systems to address security vulnerabilities, improve performance, and ensure compatibility with new technologies.

    • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to A/V systems, including hardware failures, software conflicts, and network connectivity problems.

    • Provide timely support for A/V system emergencies, such as equipment failures during critical meetings or events.

  • Technical Support:

    • Offer technical assistance to users, including training on system usage, troubleshooting, and remote support.

    • Respond to user inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

    • Develop and maintain user manuals, training materials, and knowledge base articles to support system usage.

  • System Monitoring and Security:

    • Use tooling to track system performance, identify potential issues, and proactively address problems.

    • Implement security measures to protect A/V systems from unauthorized access, data breaches, and cyberattacks by using encryption, access controls, and regular security audits.

    • Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity in the event of system failures or outages.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required, along with 8+ years' related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Maintain multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

  • Navigate key contacts outside your area of expertise.

  • Determine methods and procedures for new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel.

  • Display ability to think and work independently.

  • Possess strong understanding of wiring and termination skills as well as proper installation techniques for all A/V equipment.

  • Exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills and strong customer service skills.

  • Show understanding of reading/understanding architecture, electrical, structural & A/V systems drawings.

  • Ability to work day, evening or weekend shifts and travel to support distant events if required.

  • Must possess a valid driver's license and a safe driving record.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Varying certifications are preferred.
