Job Title

We are seeking a Purchasing Specialist to execute procurement of materials and services to support vessel operations.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Issue and revise purchase orders for approved service, repair, and material requisitions created in Infoship system;
  • Source items from suppliers by researching and identifying supply options and conducting market analysis;
  • Coordinate logistics of the material or parts for repair up to their final destination ensuring timely delivery;
  • Provide follow-up and expediting as needed to ensure arrival of supplies at final destination;
  • Maintain proper documentation in the purchase orders file adhering to company procedures;
  • Develop and maintain regular progress reports on all initiatives demonstrating results-oriented approach;
  • Follow prescribed guidelines and procedures on purchasing defined in the Purchasing Manual ensuring compliance;
  • Perform other job-related functions assigned by management.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Technical education or background in technical trading field is required;
  • 1 year of technical purchasing experience preferred with business or technical purchasing experience considered.
Desirable Skills:
  • Excellent communication skills and customer-centric attitude;
  • Able to work as part of a team and contribute to its success;
  • Good knowledge of English language with ability to communicate effectively.
