Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled AR specialist to oversee the management of invoicing, payment collection, customer account reconciliation, and cash application within a fast-paced wholesale and retail environment.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently in a detail-driven setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately generate invoices based on sales orders, purchase orders, and delivery confirmations
  • Process payments and apply them to customer accounts in a timely manner
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and follow up on past due invoices to minimize financial risk
  • Effectively communicate with customers regarding billing inquiries, discrepancies, and payment status
  • Reconcile customer accounts and resolve payment variances or short-pays in a professional and courteous manner
  • Collaborate with sales and shipping departments to validate order completion and billing accuracy
  • Maintain and update customer account records in the accounting system to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Assist with credit checks and establish customer credit limits in coordination with management to mitigate financial risk
  • Prepare AR reports and metrics for internal review and forecasting purposes
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in accounts receivable, preferably in a wholesale or retail environment
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or similar systems
  • Familiarity with wholesale terms, shipping/delivery documentation, and EDI billing (if applicable)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain attention to detail and work effectively in a fast-paced setting
