Accountant Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team. If you thrive in an established environment, have a passion for maintaining accurate financial records, and enjoy contributing to the success of a forward-thinking company.

  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records, ensuring seamless bookkeeping processes.
  • Post daily transactions in QuickBooks Online.
  • Process invoices, receipts, purchase orders, accounts payable/receivable, and supplier/vendor payments.
  • Reconcile bank statements and general ledger monthly.
  • Reconcile company credit card statements monthly.
  • Prepare financial data and reports using Excel and Fathom.
  • Extract and compile expense submissions via Dext.
  • Support payroll activities, issue refunds, and supplier payments.
  • Identify and correct errors or discrepancies, ensuring compliance with internal policies.
  • Assist with audit preparation and reporting as needed.

The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting and bookkeeping skills, with proficiency in QuickBooks Online and experience with Fathom (or comparable financial reporting platforms).

Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience, preferably in a remote environment or the cannabis industry.
  • Post-secondary education in accounting or finance (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong Excel skills: pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis.
  • Experience with Dext or similar receipt-processing tools.
  • Solid understanding of AP, AR, reconciliation, general ledger, and financial compliance.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
