Technical Desktop Support Specialist

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical assistance to users regarding desktop issues through phone and face-to-face support.
- Follow established procedures to address user requests and provide accurate log entries of faults with resolution and contact details.
- Maintain precise records of all times while on shift.
- Ensure hardware and software installations and routine upgrades are implemented according to service level agreements.
- Deliver a professional service by providing regular updates and realistic resolution times.
- Act as an interface between users and service providers, supplying necessary diagnostic information.
- Escalate non-progressing technical queries to network engineers according to established procedures.
- Participate in ongoing team training and development.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2-3 years of relevant IT experience coupled with tertiary qualifications.
- Strong technical knowledge of desktop hardware and both standard and customized software.
- Sound analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective time management and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple problems simultaneously and prioritize tasks.
- Strong customer service focus.
- Sound knowledge of the organization's standard operating environment (SOE).
- Excellent English communication skills, written and verbal.
