Job Role Overview

The Chief Financial Officer plays a pivotal role in driving the financial direction of the organization, overseeing the implementation of strategic plans and ensuring seamless execution across various business units.

  • Directs and oversees the implementation of financial strategies and plans to optimize resource allocation and enhance overall performance.
  • Develops and introduces effective financial systems, processes, and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal governance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participates in developing and implementing organizational strategy and resourcing objectives for sustainable growth.
  • Oversees the provision of comprehensive financial management services, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Ensures the embedding of risk management practices and audit procedures across all divisions' processes and systems.
  • Manages divisional resources, including personnel, finance, and assets, to maximize efficiency and productivity.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Matric and Bachelor's degree, with a CA(SA) qualification as a requirement.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in financial management and administration, with at least 5 years in a senior management position.
  • Strong knowledge and expertise in financial management, budgeting, revenue management, working capital, and cash flow management.
  • Extensive knowledge of Generally Recognized Accounting Principles (GRAP), Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), and Treasury Regulations.
  • Understanding of Corporate Governance Systems and Risk Management principles.
