AU Tax Accountant

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced tax professional to join our organization. As a tax accountant, you will play a crucial role in preparing and filing tax obligations for clients in Australia.

Your ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and organized individual with a strong understanding of Australian taxation laws and regulations. You will be responsible for guiding clients through their accounting journey, engaging with them during tax return preparation, and ensuring accurate and timely lodgement of tax returns and regulatory submissions.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience as an Australian tax accountant and be proficient in using accounting and tax software such as Xero, MYOB, and ATO online services. They will also possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare accurate financial statements and tax returns for sole traders, companies, partnerships, and trusts
  • Handle regulatory submissions such as Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT), Taxable Payments Annual Report (TPAR), and other ad-hoc compliance obligations
  • Stay updated on financial and taxation regulations to ensure compliance across accounting and taxation services
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with clients to provide updates and address queries
  • Ensure on-time lodgement of tax returns, regulatory submissions, and other compliance documents
  • Perform other accounting and tax-related tasks as assigned, including support for audits or advisory services
Requirements / Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as an Australian Tax Accountant
  • Strong understanding of Australian taxation laws and regulations
  • Proficient in using accounting and tax software such as Xero, MYOB, and ATO online services
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
