Job Description

This role is for a Tax Accountant responsible for GST/BAS, payroll tax, and other Australian tax obligations within a consolidated group and joint ventures.

The successful candidate will have 5+ years of experience as a tax professional, with a Commerce, Accounting, Finance or Tax degree, and be a Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA).

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and Lodgment of Tax Returns
  • Preparation and lodgment of the monthly Goods & Services Tax (GST) Business Activity Statements (BAS) / GST Returns, using automated GST reports and ITX Edge tax software.
  • Preparation and lodgment of the monthly Payroll Tax Returns and annual Payroll Tax reconciliation.
  • Preparation and lodgment of the monthly Pay As You Go Tax Instalment calculations.
  • Preparation of the monthly reconciliation of tax accounts (e.g. Income Tax Payable, WHT payable, PRT payable).
  • Preparation of the annual Australian Tax Returns for the consolidated income tax group and joint ventures using CCH Integrator tax software, including preparation of the International Dealings Schedule and analyzing international related party transactions.
Requirements

A minimum of 5 years of experience as a tax professional, with a strong background in GST/BAS, payroll tax, and other Australian tax obligations.

Relevant qualifications include a Commerce, Accounting, Finance or Tax degree, and being a Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA).
