About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned bookkeeper to lead key initiatives, including onboarding and cleanup projects, mentor junior staff, and maintain standardized operating procedures (SOPs).

This ensures that financial operations remain robust and reliable. The ideal candidate will be responsible for meeting deadlines, including month-end close.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and ensure quality of junior staff outputs.
  • Lead accounts payable and receivable processes: invoice preparation, approval flows, reconciliation.
  • Manage onboarding and cleanup workflows for new client accounts.
  • Maintain and enhance SOPs, checklists, and process documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal standards.
  • Train and coach junior staff, serving as escalation contact.
  • Effectively manage multiple clients and meet all deadlines for month-end close.
  • Execute onboarding plans collaboratively with the team lead.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
  • Deep understanding of US GAAP, full-cycle bookkeeping, and financial cleanup.
  • Experience with QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and process adherence.
  • Strong leadership capability and mentoring experience.
  • Track record of creating or refining SOPs and efficient workflows.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and written communication skills.
