Senior Financial Planning Analyst

This role is centered around managing the end-of-month financial processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. Key objectives include delivering strategic insights through budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling to drive business growth.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Process transactions and reconcile bank and credit card accounts using QuickBooks Online (QBO), ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Adjust and reconcile loan and debt accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Review and classify fixed asset activity; record depreciation and amortization expenses accurately.
  • Evaluate the accuracy and completeness of balance sheet and P&L statements at month-end.
  • Identify and rectify inconsistencies in the general ledger and P&L.
  • Lead the preparation of monthly financial reports, including variance and trend analysis to support informed decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models to analyze business performance and inform strategic planning initiatives.
  • Collaborate with various business units to gather data, monitor key performance indicators, and deliver actionable insights.
  • Create forecasts, budgets, and scenario-based models to support business development initiatives and enhance competitiveness.
  • Analyze costs, margins, and profitability across product or service lines to optimize resource allocation.
  • Foster close collaboration with accounting, operations, and executive teams to align financial plans with business objectives.
  • Support audits, tax filings, and other regulatory compliance activities as needed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with certifications like CPA or MBA being advantageous.
  • 5–7 years of progressive experience in accounting and/or financial planning and analysis, preferably in a corporate setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles is essential.
  • Hands-on experience with full-cycle month-end close processes, with exposure to multiple industries or multi-entity structures preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with expertise in financial modeling and data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP, and experience with FP&A tools like Adaptive Insights or Anaplan is beneficial.
  • Able to lead automation or process improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent analytical mindset, critical thinking skills, and attention to detail are crucial.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively translate financial data into actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to provide high-impact financial insights to support executive decision-making.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
