Leadership Role in Credit Operations

The Head of Credit Operations plays a pivotal role in leading the assessment and approval of credit decisions for real estate transactions. This position requires strategic thinking, risk management, and effective team leadership to drive business growth and minimize financial losses.

Responsibilities
  • Credit Policy & Strategy: Develop and implement tailored credit policies and procedures to align with the company's investment goals, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Credit Evaluation & Approval: Conduct thorough assessments of borrower creditworthiness, utilizing financial analysis and risk modeling to inform decision-making.
  • Portfolio Risk Management: Identify emerging risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure the optimal performance of the credit portfolio.
  • Team Leadership: Foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and collaboration among team members, providing guidance and mentorship to enhance individual and team performance.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with various stakeholders to ensure seamless deal execution, leveraging expertise from finance, legal, and property management teams.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Provide actionable insights to executive leadership on credit performance, risk exposure, and key metrics, informing data-driven decision-making.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
  • Experience: 8–10+ years of experience in credit risk management, preferably in real estate or top financial institutions.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of U.S. lending regulations, real estate market dynamics, credit scoring models, financial analysis, and risk assessment tools.
  • Leadership & Communication Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
