Job Title: Route Coordinator

The Home-Based Dispatcher role is a full-time position that requires the ability to learn new skills and demonstrate existing ones.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure drivers adhere to DOT regulations and meet customer requirements.
  • Serve as a reliable point of contact for drivers and management.
  • Monitor daily driving logs to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Support Deputy Terminal Manager in ensuring truck and driver readiness.
  • Develop daily plans to balance drivers' health and safety with customer needs.
  • Coordinate and manage loads efficiently.
  • Implement cost-effective programs.
  • Combine shipments based on routes and timeline to minimize truck/driver requirements.
  • Negotiate rates directly with vendors and customers.
  • Identify special shipment needs and assist drivers in obtaining necessary documents.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent; Logistics or transportation degree preferred.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish a plus.
  • Familiarity with DOT and OSHA compliance regulations.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Quick and thorough data entry/input background, including Excel and cloud-based services.
  • Clear English communication skills – accent not required but must be easily understandable.
  • Critical thinking and fast responsiveness.
  • Previous dispatcher experience essential.
