
Technical Support Specialist

Job Summary
A technical professional will assist in the support of customers and internal personnel. This role requires knowledge of engineering principles and techniques, with a focus on assigned products.
Main Responsibilities
- Respond to customer inquiries via various communication channels to provide technical assistance regarding company products.
- Complete technical requests, including product and application troubleshooting and product selection.
- Coordinate technical data for use with computer programs as necessary for customer and applications.
- Update online product information, interchange tools, and product FAQs.
- Assist in updating product information for distributor systems.
- Handle departmental routines promptly and report any problems to the supervisor.
- Prepare reports on status of activities, projects, and initiatives assigned in defined timeframes or as requested.
- Follow established ethics and environmental guidelines.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering.
- Proficiency in English language; proficiency in other languages is an asset.
- Knowledge of power transmission products relating to their use and/or manufacture is an asset.
- PC literate; Microsoft Office user skills required; Access skills are an asset.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Able to read and interpret blueprints as well as tolerance schemes.
- Relational database and/or Oracle experience is an asset.
