Overview: As a Mortgage Loan Underwriter, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of mortgage loan packages. Your expertise in U.S. mortgage loan underwriting and/or mortgage disclosure processing will be instrumental in driving business growth.
Responsibilities: Key responsibilities include reviewing and validating mortgage loan components, ensuring data points and documents are accurate and complete, conducting thorough calculations and validations, and preparing mortgage loan packages with the highest level of accuracy. You will also identify and resolve credit issues, communicate underwriting requirements and conditions clearly, and conduct quality checks on completed loan packages.
- Credit & Risk Mitigation: You will ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, minimize risks, and maintain meticulous documentation for each underwriting decision.
- Quality Assurance & Process Improvement: You will conduct quality checks, stay updated on industry guidelines and regulatory changes, and recommend improvements to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
Requirements: To succeed in this role, you will require at least 5 years of meaningful experience with mortgage loan underwriting, excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, proficiency in MS Excel/Google Sheets, and experience with customer information tools and task management tools.
