Job Opportunity

The Regional Volunteer Coordinator will play a vital role in managing and engaging volunteers across various countries.

This position requires close collaboration with host country staff, program operation teams, volunteer systems, and resources to build strong local and international volunteer teams and support staff who work directly with volunteers on best practices and OSI processes.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Determine volunteer team roles needed by coordinating with host country staff and Program Operations.
  • Develop strategies to offer international volunteer positions to partner and program countries in equitable ways, supporting their volunteer engagement goals.
  • Oversee all aspects of volunteer placement, international flight logistics, and volunteer preparation with appropriate volunteer management staff in the volunteer's home country, program host country, and travel support staff.
  • Support credentialing of volunteers in assigned countries by ensuring all documentation is in order, requirements are met, and process is completed.
  • Evaluate and assess volunteer evaluations, escalating priority issues/comments to relevant staff.
  • Provide regular updates and summary reports on volunteer placement and team composition status to the Regional Volunteer Manager and Program Operations staff.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in business, program management, project management, non-profit studies, international studies, communications, or related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in volunteer coordination, customer service, or project management.

  • Excellent communication skills in a multicultural context.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and cultural competency to build relationships with global stakeholders and volunteers.
  • Ability to work independently with high initiative.
  • Strong English language skills, written and spoken.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
