Procurement Specialist Job Description

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing daily operations to ensure that purchasing processes and PO placement are maintained.

  • Coordinates and executes day-to-day activities in compliance with established business policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that procurement duties are carried out in accordance with company policies and quality standards.
  • Responsible for implementing quality processes as per ISO, FDA, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with internal and external business associates.
  • Maintains awareness of quality consequences related to job performance.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

Supplier Management:

  • Manages the supplier base through relationship development, selection, and agreements.
  • Evaluates suppliers and ensures contracts are in place to protect the company's interests.
  • Carries out the purchasing process for stock, non-stock items, and capital equipment.

Planning and Purchasing Contingencies:

  • Reviews and maintains planning and purchasing contingencies to ensure continuous supply of product to customers.
  • Promotes Continuous Improvement to deliver cost-effective solutions.

Continuous Quality Improvement:

  • Participates in quarterly supplier review meetings to address quality issues.
  • Records and addresses supplier-related incidents.

Change and New Product Management:

  • Works on change management processes to reflect SKU changes and bring new products into the company.

Technical Skills:

  • Determines and implements logistical improvements within business planning systems.
  • Represents the department on cross-functional project teams.

Ad Hoc Projects:

  • Undertakes and is accountable for projects as requested by the department head.
