Seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Property Accounting Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial management skills, proficiency in AppFolio software, and experience working with real estate accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for multiple properties using AppFolio.
- Process accounts payable and receivable, including vendor bills and tenant payments, in a timely and efficient manner.
- Reconcile bank accounts, trust accounts, and credit card statements monthly to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and real estate-specific accounting standards.
- Prepare owner statements, financial reports, and draw schedules as required.
- Monitor and manage tenant ledgers, security deposits, and lease-related transactions to ensure seamless property management.
- Collaborate with property managers to resolve discrepancies and support audits as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
- CPA or Bookkeeping Certification (a plus).
- Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in real estate.
- Proven expertise in AppFolio software (required).
- Experience managing financials for multiple properties or portfolios.
- Advanced proficiency in AppFolio, QuickBooks, and Excel.
- Strong understanding of real estate accounting principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
