The role of the Loan Processor has evolved to encompass a broader range of responsibilities, centered around the efficient management of loan files from origination through closing. Ensuring compliance with all applicable lending regulations is paramount.

  • Initial loan applications must be thoroughly reviewed for accuracy and completeness.
  • Gathering, verifying and analyzing financial and personal documentation such as credit reports, tax returns, pay stubs and bank statements is a crucial aspect of the role.
  • Loan packages must be meticulously prepared and submitted to underwriting for approval.
  • Effective communication and coordination with loan officers, underwriters, clients, title companies and other third-party vendors is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Documentation must comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Loan status must be accurately tracked and updated in the system, keeping all stakeholders informed throughout the process.
  • Documentary or credit issues must be promptly identified and addressed, with additional information requested when necessary.
  • Closing documents must be scheduled and prepared in coordination with the closing team.
  • Accurate records and files must be maintained in accordance with company policies and auditing requirements.
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in loan origination systems (MyCRM, Mercury, Infynity, Apply Online, Quickli, PropertyHub) is required.
  • Income verification skills, particularly with regards to PAYG/Self Employed Income, are essential.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills are vital.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities are necessary.
  • Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy are expected.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment is required.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in loan processing or mortgage broking is preferred.
