Job Overview

This entry-level position is ideal for someone looking to start their career in finance, working closely with the Head of Finance and the Managing Director.

As an Assistant Accountant, you will be responsible for supporting various project costings and preparing project financials.

  • Perform reconciliations of accounts, month-end reconciliations and bank reconciliations
  • Process batch payments and invoices accurately and within expected time periods
  • Verify financial statements, ledgers and accounts, making corrections as needed
Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks.

  • Maintain the asset register, depreciation schedules and loan summaries
  • Assist with month-end reporting, including IAS, GST reporting, BAS, etc.
  • Take minutes in meetings and perform ad-hoc duties as required
Requirements
  • Degree qualification in Accounting or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of Xero, with ability to use Tradify a plus
  • Confident using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and Company Tax Obligations to the ATO
