Senior Bookkeeper Role Summary

This senior-level bookkeeping position involves leading projects to onboard and cleanse financial operations, ensuring they remain robust and reliable. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of full-cycle bookkeeping and financial cleanup, as well as experience with QuickBooks or similar platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the review and quality assurance of junior bookkeeper outputs.
  • Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, including invoice preparation and approval workflows.
  • Manage onboarding and cleanup workflows for new client accounts.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), checklists, and process documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal standards.
  • Train and mentor junior bookkeepers, serving as an escalation contact.
  • Effectively manage multiple clients and meet deadlines for month-end close.
  • Collaborate with the Pod Lead to execute onboarding plans.
  • Communicate proficiently via email and Slack using alias accounts.
Competencies and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
  • Deep understanding of full-cycle bookkeeping and financial cleanup.
  • Experience with QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and process adherence.
  • Strong leadership capability and mentoring experience.
  • Track record of creating or refining SOPs and efficient workflows.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and written communication skills.
