Job Overview

Our organization is seeking a skilled technical professional to fill the role of Application Support Specialist.

This position requires an individual with experience in providing application support and initial triage of all tickets escalated to the team, as well as maintaining and regularly updating technical documentation.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of IT hardware, software, and troubleshooting methodologies, and will be proficient in both Windows and Linux environments.

Responsibilities
  • Provide application support and initial triage of all tickets escalated to the team.
  • Maintain and regularly update technical documentation, including SOPs, knowledge bases, and infrastructure diagrams.
  • Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to identify, triage, and resolve technical issues involving both application and database layers.
  • Ensure all support activities follow ITIL processes and best practices.
  • Coordinate with local and global teams for escalations and system changes.
  • Deliver end-user and internal team training for application and database usage.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of maintenance windows, database upgrades, and patching schedules.
  • Develop ad-hoc and scheduled reports for various departments, leveraging SQL queries and reporting tools.
Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in Application Support, ideally with a background in Database Administration.
  • Hands-on experience administering MariaDB and Microsoft SQL Server is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and ticket management systems.
  • Solid knowledge of IT hardware, software, and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of Cloud Infrastructure (e.g., AWS EC2, VPC, Amazon Linux AMI).
  • Proficient in both Windows and Linux environments, including log analysis and basic shell scripting.
  • Experience with API support, including request testing and error analysis.
  • Exposure to Docker containers and orchestration is a plus.
  • Basic scripting or automation knowledge using Shell, Python, or similar technologies is a plus.
