Learning and Development Business Analyst

This role involves supporting learning and development operations with various analytics and automation solutions. You will analyze, review, forecast, trend, and present data for business planning, recommending process improvements through documented standard operating procedures.

As a Senior Business Analyst in the Learning and Development team, you will work on a wide variety of learning innovations, partnering with business leaders and technology teams to improve business processes and gather and report on learning utilization and effectiveness. Your timely support will be crucial for customers, and you will monitor the central email for L&D inquiries.

The Value Enablement shared services team consists of around 15 employees supporting learning and development, training, communications, project management, and change management needs. Corporate Services comprises approximately 500 employees who deliver excellent customer service by providing expertise and enterprise leverage in real estate, procurement, environmental, occupational health, and safety for our internal customers across UHG, UnitedHealthcare, and Optum.

• Gather data business requirements, including key L&D analytics, industry metrics, and benchmarks
• Understand the difference between business requirements and technical solutions
• Assess and interpret customer needs and requirements
• Design, develop, and distribute L&D metrics reporting and visualization using business intelligence reporting
• Manage learner groups or analysis and assignment of Environmental, Occupational Health & Safety (EOHS) regulatory training in coordination with business partners or training leads using business intelligence reporting
• Support the EOHS team with future innovations of the learning enrollment process to reduce friction and improve accuracy
• Ensure all business processes are documented, uniform, and securely stored
• Recommend process improvements for improved efficiencies, removing waste, saving time, and reducing friction
• Solve moderately complex problems and/or conduct moderately complex analyses
• Translate concepts into practice
• Identify capability gaps between current state and desired state
• Identify the business impact of system or application changes using appropriate tools as needed
• Identify solutions to non-standard requests and problems
• Conduct and/or support testing activities as appropriate
• Validate usability of technical solutions prior to deployment
• Monitor L&D central email and respond within stated Service Level Agreement, directing to other parties based on their specialization, and escalating as needed
• Maintain awareness of best practices or approaches related to the business analysis discipline
• Maintain awareness of best practices or approaches related to quality and productivity

• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience in business analysis, including working with internal business partners and technology leads
• Experience in complex problem-solving and process improvement, analyzing, and recommending solutions
• Experience with Microsoft Power BI business intelligence reporting and Smartsheet
• Solid knowledge of latest innovations and emerging trends in leveraging data and providing predictive and prescriptive learning analytics
• Proficiency with Access databases
• Proficiency in learning management platforms (e.g., EdCast, Oracle Learning Cloud)
• Proficiency in Office 365 Suite of Tools (MS Teams and Apps, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access, SharePoint, etc.)
• Proficiency in digital learning platforms, talent analytics tools, and change management best practices
• Proven analytical thinking skills
• Proven relationship-building, accountability, and critical thinking skills
• Proven ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver next-in-class analytics solutions
• Proven motivation to learn and share knowledge, advocacy for building a learning culture
