Key Skills for a Front-End Developer

We are seeking a skilled Senior Front-end Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in delivering high-quality front-end development using clean code, modern tooling, and best practices.

About the Job Role
  • Develop custom WordPress themes using ACF and modular CSS/JS.
  • Build custom Shopify themes and extend functionality as required.
  • Deliver React-based front-end builds, including Gatsby for static and hybrid websites.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Translating designs and requirements into maintainable, performant code.
  2. Applying advanced site optimisation techniques (Core Web Vitals, caching, lazy loading, image optimisation, etc).
  3. Ensuring accessibility, responsive behaviour, and SEO best practices are consistently applied.
  4. Working with Git using a branch/pull request/merge workflow.
  5. Using modern toolchains (Webpack, Vite, Babel, npm/yarn) to improve development efficiency and code quality.
  6. Troubleshooting issues across front-end, WordPress, Shopify, React, and server environments.

As a Senior Front-end Developer, you will play a key role in shaping the front-end of our web applications. You will work closely with the design and back-end teams to deliver high-quality features that meet business needs.

Key qualities for this role include:

  • Strong knowledge of front-end development principles and best practices.
  • Experience with modern front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, and Vue.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
  • Understanding of responsive web design and mobile-first development.
  • Ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
