Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Front-end Developer to join our team on a remote basis. This role is focused on delivering high-quality front-end development with clean code, modern tooling, and best practices.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience across WordPress, Shopify, and React-based builds, with a deep understanding of ACF and WordPress customisation best practices.

They will be responsible for developing custom WordPress themes, building custom Shopify themes, and delivering React-based front-end builds, including Gatsby for static and hybrid websites.

The successful candidate will also have expertise in integrating APIs, handling asynchronous data, and troubleshooting server-related issues.

In addition to technical skills, the ideal candidate will possess strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Expert knowledge of HTML, CSS (Flexbox, Grid), and modern JavaScript (ES6+)
  • Strong ability to hand-code solutions rather than rely heavily on plugins
  • Advanced experience with custom WordPress theme development and Shopify builds
  • Solid experience with React, including building projects in Gatsby or similar
  • Deep understanding of ACF and WordPress customisation best practices
  • Proficient with CSS pre-processors like SCSS and building maintainable design systems
  • Experience with JavaScript tooling (Webpack, Vite, Babel, npm/yarn)
  • Familiarity with Git workflows in a collaborative team environment
  • Proficiency in integrating APIs and handling asynchronous data
  • Skilled in optimising websites for speed, accessibility, and SEO
  • Comfortable troubleshooting server-related issues (LAMP/LEMP environments, hosting setups)
