About the role:

We are seeking a skilled and proactive IT System Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth operation, maintenance, and security of the organization's IT infrastructure. This includes managing servers, network systems, and hardware, as well as providing technical support and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain servers, network devices, and software applications.
  • Perform system updates, backups, and patches to ensure reliability and security.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure the security of the organization's IT infrastructure, including firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Implement disaster recovery strategies to safeguard against data loss.
  • Provide technical support to end-users, resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to improve overall system efficiency and performance.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in IT infrastructure.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience in IT system administration or network administration.
  • Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.), networking protocols, and system management tools.
  • Experience with server management, virtualization, cloud services, and database administration.
  • Familiarity with security best practices, firewalls, VPNs, and encryption technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with technical and non-technical users.
