Job Description

The role of Tax Operations Director will involve shaping the automation of tax operations and reporting in a dynamic, international environment.

  • Drive the automation of tax compliance processes across direct and indirect tax types in a complex, multinational setting.
  • Act as the technical lead for Group tax reporting under US GAAP principles.
  • Lead on tax issues related to digital business models.
Key Responsibilities
  • Tax Technology & Compliance Automation and integration
  • Collaborate with IT, Finance, and external providers to ensure seamless integration of tax technology with core business systems.
  • Integrate direct and indirect tax compliance aspects into the company's processes, taking responsibility for two tax professionals and relationships with external advisors.
  • Drive improvements in data quality, process consistency, and control in the end-to-end tax compliance lifecycle.
  • Group Tax Reporting - Technical Oversight (US GAAP)
  • Provide technical leadership on Group tax reporting matters under US GAAP, including current and deferred tax accounting and tax disclosures.
  • Identify and implement improvements to tax reporting processes, focusing on automation, data integrity, and scalable reporting frameworks.
  • Platform & Digital Business Tax Strategy
  • Offer strategic and technical tax support for digital business models, including indirect and digital tax impacts.
  • Manage Research & Development relief claims.
  • Stay up-to-date on global tax trends and regulatory developments impacting digital businesses.
  • Global Tax Governance & Risk Management
  • Support the Head of Tax in maintaining strong global tax governance, including audit management, compliance frameworks, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of global tax policies, controls, and documentation.
Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications
  • A professional qualification such as ACA, CTA, CPA, or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in international tax and tax reporting, ideally within a multinational corporation or Big 4 environment.
  • Proven experience leading the automation of tax compliance processes across direct and indirect tax types.
  • Strong technical expertise in US GAAP tax accounting, including review-level oversight and audit interaction.
  • Familiarity with tax challenges in digital business models.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
