Special Education Teacher Position

The Special Education Teacher will play a pivotal role in guiding and supporting students and families, fostering academic growth and development. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional instructional skills, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Orient students to their course material, establish clear objectives, and monitor student progress and pacing.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of assigned courses, incorporating diverse teaching methods to engage students.
  • Understand the diverse backgrounds and needs of students and families, providing individualized support as needed.
  • Facilitate live class sessions, work collaboratively with colleagues, and maintain accurate records.
  • Establish clear expectations, create lesson plans, and align instruction to applicable state standards.
  • Participate in school initiatives related to student achievement and local testing.
  • Serve as a tutor for regularly scheduled sessions, hold open office hours, and communicate student progress to Academic Advisors and families.
  • Administer periodic assessments, provide detailed feedback, and implement specially designed instruction.
Requirements:
  • Valid Pennsylvania State Teaching Certificate in Special Education.
  • Job-related experience preferred, with a focus on supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Clearances: Child Abuse Clearance; Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Clearance.
