Medical Virtual Assistant Role

This role is ideal for a highly organized and detail-oriented individual who can work remotely to support a physical therapy practice in California.

We are seeking a skilled Medical Virtual Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, the ability to multitask, and strong organizational abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Confirm patient appointments and manage the appointment calendar with precision.
  • Handle patient inquiries via phone and email, ensuring exceptional communication and empathy.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Coordinate daily schedules in collaboration with medical staff to optimize patient care and therapist efficiency.
  • Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
  • Manage referrals from other healthcare providers, verify insurance coverage, and obtain pre-authorizations.
  • Update patient files with insurance information and explain benefits to patients as needed.
  • Liaise with insurance providers to clarify coverage details and resolve issues.
  • Coordinate therapist schedules and manage patient appointments seamlessly.
  • Send appointment reminders and respond to patient inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Maintain electronic medical records with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Provide virtual assistance to patients, answering calls and assisting with inquiries effectively.
  • Prepare documents and manage email correspondence professionally.
  • Perform data entry tasks and generate basic reports as required.
Requirements
  • A proven track record of experience in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with electronic medical records systems.
