Job Summary

We are seeking an Accounting Specialist to deliver high-quality accounting services and support our clients with financial reviews, account management, and timely full-service accounting.

This role involves maintaining awareness of each client's needs and opportunities for profit growth and stewardship. The successful candidate will assist in monthly financial reviews, bank feed updates, payroll recording, client communications, and periodic client accounting clean-up.

The ideal candidate will have a background in accounting or a strong understanding of basic accounting principles. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets is also required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process Bank Feeds: Code transactions from each bank or credit card account according to written processes. Serve 25+ clients once trained.
  • Bank Account Reconciliations: Assist with end-of-month reconciliation for assigned client accounts (25+). Activities include:
  • Credit Card Reconciliations: Reconcile client credit card activity.
  • Monthly Financial Review: Follow up with clients on unrecorded income/expenses; cross-check statements for accuracy; respond to client questions about coding decisions.
  • Payroll Recording: May record payroll transactions using templates; prepare journal entries; upload to QuickBooks and/or Xero; book benefit bills; reconcile clearing accounts.
  • Accounting Cleanup: Assist with cleanup in areas such as revenue coding, payroll, balance sheet accounts; maintain strong accounting practices and attention to detail.
Requirements
  • Background in Accounting or understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
  • Good written communication
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented; able to learn new concepts with written and hands-on support
  • Experience in QuickBooks Online (QBO)
